Special Issue Description

“The attainment of proper operating conditions, prevention of accidents or mitigation of accident consequences, resulting in protection of personnel, the public, and the environment from undue radiation threats” is the definition of nuclear safety. The definition of nuclear security is “the prevention, detection, and response to the theft, sabotage, unauthorized access, unlawful transfer, or other malicious activities involving nuclear materials, other radioactive chemicals, or their associated facilities.” This includes all nuclear facilities, including nuclear power plants, as well as the usage and storage of radioactive materials for industrial, medicinal, and military purposes. The nuclear power sector has developed better and safer reactor designs and enhanced the safety and efficiency of reactors. For a variety of reasons, including secrecy, agencies other than those in charge of regulating civilian safety typically handle the safety of nuclear weapons as well as the safety of military research utilizing nuclear materials. Fissile materials are used in nuclear power plants to create heat energy, which is then transformed into electricity by conventional generating facilities. This procedure results in the production of radioactive materials. Although radioactive materials can be useful in treating cancer, they are generally bad for your health. To maintain nuclear safety, both their use and the method of production must be rigorously regulated. The term “nuclear safety” refers to a broad range of activities, including ensuring that nuclear installations are operated safely, preventing accidents, and mitigating their effects should they occur.

Manuscript Submission information

Manuscripts should be submitted online via the manuscript Engine. Once you register on APID, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline.
All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the email address:[email protected] for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a Double-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for the submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page.
