Special Issue Description

TLRs, a significant class of transmembrane proteins, are toll-like receptors. Pattern recognition receptors are the name for these immune glycoproteins (PRRs). Four different molecular patterns—damage / danger-associated molecular patterns (DAMPs), microbial/microbe-associated molecular patterns (MAMPs), pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs), and xenobiotic-associated molecular patterns—activate the intracellular and extracellular Immuno glycoproteins of TLRs (XAMPs). Certain signaling pathways may be induced as a result of TLR activation. Similar to interleukins, TLRs play a role in a variety of immune responses and collaborate with the innate and adaptive immune systems to form a complete system. Additionally, both immune and nonimmune cells express TLRs that are comparable to interleukins. Interleukins and TLRs do play a crucial part in the occurrence of contact between immune and non-immune cells under a variety of circumstances, from homeostasis to various illnesses. Cancers, autoimmune disorders, and infectious diseases are all included in the spectrum of illnesses. It’s interesting to note that TLRs and interleukins are the key proteins that influence the development, progression, or prevention of illnesses. The expression of TLRs may go up or down depending on the illness and the physiological setting. In other words, TLRs that resemble interleukins might act in opposition to or in concert with one another. TLR crosstalk is also seen to vary based on the various circumstances. TLR biomarkers are distinctive and significant because of these characteristics. According to molecular studies, the presence of polymorphisms, such as single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) within TLR genes, may contribute to the emergence of autoimmune, infectious, or cancerous illnesses. These glycoproteins are thought to have potential functions in human diseases and tumors because TLR biomolecules play active roles in homeostasis, diseases, and cancers. TLRs may therefore be regarded as crucial target molecules in treatments. The role of TLRs and their connection to autoimmune and infectious illnesses, malignancies, and therapies will be thoroughly examined in this topic. Review and original articles about any pertinent academic subjects are accepted.

Manuscript Submission information

Manuscripts should be submitted online via the manuscript Engine. Once you register on APID, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline.
All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the email address:[email protected] for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a Double-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for the submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page.
