Special Issue Description

Drug therapy and medication development are significantly complicated by drug toxicity. Anaphylaxis, blood dyscrasias, hepatotoxicity, and severe cutaneous reactions are a few examples of such adverse drug reactions (ADRs). They can be lethal and are frequently serious. Various other diseases have no relevant animal model and do not fully understand the effect of toxins at molecular levels in humans. Numerous peculiar reactions seem to have an immunological cause. For instance, there is mounting evidence that T cells play a part in severe skin reactions. The process by which a straightforward chemical can cause massive tissue damage is still poorly understood, so it’s important to look into further cutting-edge toxicity mechanisms. This special issue’s goal is to explore the chemical and molecular aspects of toxicity that are currently recognized. The issue will pay particular attention to how current discoveries in molecular biology and cellular immunology can enhance our comprehension of the chemical and clinical aspects of drug hypersensitivity. The control of the immune response to medicines and their metabolites will be examined in light of recent developments in the roles of both intracellular and intercellular signaling. In the framework of the general chemical and toxicological properties of heavy metals and toxic chemicals, the articles of the issue will describe the molecular mechanisms of their toxicity for humans.

Manuscript Submission information

Manuscripts should be submitted online via the manuscript Engine. Once you register on APID, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline.
All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the email address:[email protected] for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a Double-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for the submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page.
