Special Issue Description

Natural Polymers, or polymeric material made by living organisms, have attracted current academic attention due to their distinctive properties. Natural polymers are molecules that resemble chains and are formed of recurring chemical building components that can break down in the environment. Natural polymers are increasingly being used in electronics, medical devices, energy, food packaging, and other fields due to their unique nontoxicity and biodegradability qualities. The characteristics of Natural polymers can be improved by adding nanoscale reinforcement or by combining biopolymers to create composite materials, which can then be used more effectively in real-world applications. It is possible to create new materials with improved electrical, mechanical, thermal, and optical properties by taking into account the appropriateness, compatibility, and sustainability of the interaction of new materials with biopolymers. When used as a renewable source of electricity, solar energy has enormous potential. The cost of current technologies, however, prevents them from completely replacing nonrenewable energy sources. Due to the benefits of combining complex bio/nanomaterials with polymers, natural polymers for sustainable energy technologies are generating a lot of interest. On the other side, biodegradable polymers composite-based lightweight, flexible, reasonably priced, and near-room temperature photodetectors have also gained popularity recently. This analysis of natural polymers/nanocomposite applications focuses on photovoltaics and ultraviolet (UV) light detection. We provide a brief explanation of the biocomposite features, manufacturing method, and impact on power conversion efficiency.

Manuscript Submission information

Manuscripts should be submitted online via the manuscript Engine. Once you register on APID, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline.
All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed. Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent to the email address:[email protected] for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a Double-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for the submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page.
