Special Issue Description

New technology in the area of nanostructures is called nanopillars. The 10 nanometer-diameter pillar-shaped nanostructures known as nanopillars can be arranged in lattice-like arrays. Being a sort of metamaterial, nanopillars acquire their characteristics not from their inherent characteristics but rather from being clustered into artificially created structures. Under their distinctive shape, nanopillars distinguish themselves from other nanostructures. Each nanopillar features a tapered sharp top end and a pillar-shaped bottom. This form and the capacity of nanopillars to form clusters show numerous advantageous characteristics. Effective solar panels, high-resolution analyses, and antimicrobial surfaces are just a few uses for nanopillars.
