Abstract

nPorous concrete is a specially designed kind of concrete featuring high water porosity, allowing water to readily move through the already present interconnecting vast porous structures. The present experimental study emphasized on the production of permeable concrete with a lower Portland cement and recycled aggregate aggregates building environmentally friendly permeable pavements. The literature review suggested in most of the studies the use of single size of aggregate in the pervious concrete. This yields a bigger air space in comparison to normal concrete which leads to an increasing infiltration rate. The goal of the current research is to create a PIPB and analyze its structural, functional, and mechanical characteristics. Pore size distribution, porosity, dynamic elasticity modulus adopting UPV, strength properties, as well as wear by Cantabro loss are used to describe the PIPBs (CL) characteristics. Further, the assessments of density and porosity have also been varied, however, no evidences are observed that mix qualities influence. To summarize, a significant correlation has been observed between the CS and UPV as well as CL measures.
