    Open Access Publication

    What is Open Access?

Open access refers to the practice of making research articles and other scholarly materials freely available online, without cost or access barriers. Open access is based on the principle that scientific research should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their ability to pay for access.

    Open Access Models

Numerous models of open access have been developed, with unique approaches to enabling unrestricted access to research publications. Among the most commonly employed open-access models are:

    Green Open Access

    • Overview
      • Green Open Access, also known as self-archiving, offers a model for open-access publishing.
      • Authors deposit a version of their manuscript in an online repository post-acceptance by ijrfi.
      • The deposited manuscript is typically the author's final draft, not the published version, which remains behind a paywall.
    • Variability in Self-Archiving Policies
      • ijrfi has its self-archiving policies.
      • It enforces an embargo period.
      • The embargo period, often 12 to 24 months, can extend longer in certain cases.
    • Benefits of Green Open Access
      • Enables authors to share research with a broader audience, regardless of institutional or financial constraints.
      • Presents an alternative to costly subscription-based publishing models, which may be financially burdensome for individuals and institutions.

    Gold Open Access

    • Overview
      • Authors pay an APC to make their articles freely accessible upon publication.
      • Articles are published in ijrfi without paywalls or access restrictions.
      • The fee is typically covered by the author's institution or research funder.
      • Covers publication, peer review, and editorial services costs.
    • Benefits of Green Open Access
      • Increased accessibility: Research is freely available to anyone with internet access.
      • Enhanced visibility and impact: Increased citation rates and Broader dissemination of research findings.
      • Facilitates collaboration and knowledge sharing: Enables researchers from various institutions and disciplines to access and build upon each other's work.

    Open Access Licensing

Authors who opt for Open Access retain copyright over their work and license their articles under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives (CC BY-NC-ND) license. In this license, others can share the work as long as they give appropriate credit, use it for noncommercial purposes, and do not alter or remix the original content.

    • Under the CC BY-NC-ND license
      • Users may: Share, copy, and redistribute the article for academic, research, and non-commercial purposes.
      • Users may not: Use the article for commercial purposes (e.g., republishing, commercial distribution, paid services) without obtaining explicit permission, or modify or adapt the article in any way.
    • Rights & Permissions for Open Access Articles

    Article Processing Charges

    Payment

If there is no existing agreement covering the open-access publication fee, we will generate an invoice for you to settle the payment.

It's important to note that the open-access publication fee is separate from any other costs associated with journal publication. Additional charges such as those for color figures in print or oversized articles will be invoiced separately.

Payment for the open-access publication fee will be charged in INR as well as US dollars. If applicable, sales tax will be added to the total amount. Please be aware that the price does not include VAT in USD, which will be added at the standard rate if applicable.
