About the Journal

International Journal of Chemical Synthesis and Chemical Reactions

International Journal of Chemical Synthesis and Chemical Reactions [2582-5917 (e)] is a peer-reviewed hybrid open-access journal launched in 2015 that focuses on material synthesis, mass balance, kinetic analysis, and other related fields of the chemical synthesis process and chemical reactions. Journal accepts both experimental and theoretical papers that fall under the scope of the journal.

Focus & Scope

  • Synthetic methodology: new synthetic routes and reagents, multi-step sequences, stereoselective and enantioselective methods, protecting-group strategies, one-pot and cascade reactions, and yield and selectivity optimisation.
  • Organic synthesis: carbon–carbon and carbon–heteroatom bond formation, functional group transformations, heterocycle construction, natural product synthesis and synthetic analogues, and organometallic reagents in synthesis.
  • Peptide synthesis: solid-phase and solution-phase strategies, coupling reagents and racemisation control, cyclic and modified peptides, peptidomimetics and peptoids, and peptide self-assembly.
  • Electrosynthesis: electro-organic transformations, mediated and paired electrolysis, electrode materials and surface modification, electrolyte and solvent systems, and microbial electrosynthesis for COâ‚‚ conversion.
  • Catalysis: homogeneous, heterogeneous, and phase-transfer catalysis, supported and bimetallic catalysts, catalyst preparation and characterisation, deactivation and regeneration, and biocatalysis including enzyme immobilisation.
  • Reaction mechanisms and kinetics: mechanistic elucidation, rate law determination, transition-state and intermediate characterisation, chemical equilibrium, computational and theoretical mechanistic studies, and isotope-labelling studies.
  • Materials synthesis: chemical vapour deposition, atomic layer deposition, sol–gel and hydrothermal routes, nanoparticle and nanostructure synthesis, polymer and composite synthesis, and surface functionalisation chemistry.
  • Combustion chemistry: combustion kinetics and mechanisms, catalytic combustion, fuel characterisation for gaseous, liquid, and solid fuels, soot and pollutant formation, and thermal analysis of combustion behaviour.
  • Reactor technologies: reactor design and scale-up, continuous-flow and microreactor systems, process intensification, mixing and residence-time analysis, computational fluid dynamics applied to reacting systems, and photochemical and sonochemical reactors.
  • Mass and energy balance: steady-state and dynamic balances, population balance modelling, mass and heat transfer in reacting systems, thermodynamic optimisation, and process simulation and validation.
  • Green and sustainable synthesis: solvent selection and solvent-free routes, atom economy and waste minimisation, renewable and biomass-derived feedstocks, energy-efficient reaction conditions, and life-cycle considerations in synthetic route design.
