About the Journal
International Journal of Environmental Chemistry
International Journal of Environmental Chemistry [2456-5245 (e)]Â is a peer-reviewed hybrid open-access journal launched in 2015 aims to serve as a platform for the dissemination of innovative ideas and research in entire areas of Environmental Chemistry. The aim and Objective are to create interest among Researcher Scholars in Environmental Chemistry dealing with atmospheric, aquatic, and soil chemistry, as well as profoundly depend on Environmental Sciences. Environmental chemistry is an interdisciplinary science that includes the chemical processes occurring in the environment which are impacted by humankind’s activities.
Focus & Scope
The journal welcomes original and interdisciplinary research in the following areas:
- Atmospheric and Air Chemistry: atmospheric pollutants, particulate matter, volatile organic compounds, aerosol chemistry, gaseous contaminants, source apportionment, air-quality monitoring, exposure assessment, and chemical transformation in the atmosphere.
- Aquatic and Water Chemistry: surface water, groundwater, hydrochemistry, water quality, nutrient and contaminant chemistry, speciation, redox processes, and chemical interactions in freshwater, marine, and estuarine environments.
- Soil and Sediment Chemistry: soil–water interactions, adsorption and desorption, nutrient chemistry, heavy metals, organic contaminants, soil pollution, chemical mobility, and contaminant transport.
- Environmental Analytical Chemistry: sampling, extraction, separation, spectroscopy, chromatography, mass spectrometry, electrochemical methods, sensors, biosensors, chemometrics, and validated analytical methods for environmental matrices.
- Emerging Contaminants: pharmaceuticals, personal-care products, endocrine-disrupting chemicals, PFAS, microplastics, nanomaterials, persistent organic pollutants, and other contaminants of emerging concern.
