About the Journal

International Journal of Analytical and Applied Chemistry

International Journal of Analytical and Applied Chemistry [2582-5933 (e)] is a peer-reviewed hybrid open-access journal launched in 2015 that focuses on general issues, critical reviews and original research articles are included in the journal of analytical and applied chemistry. Journal publishes peer-reviewed articles only and is stringent in the policy of originality and novelty of the article. Electrochemistry, photoelectrochemistry, medicinal chemistry, and organometallic chemistry are some of the topics that are covered in the journal.

Focus & Scope

  • Analytical methodology: chromatographic separations including HPLC, GC, and ion chromatography, mass spectrometry and hyphenated techniques, atomic and molecular spectroscopy, electroanalytical methods, sample preparation and extraction, method development and validation, calibration and quantification, and uncertainty and quality assurance in chemical measurement.
  • Chemical sensors and biosensors: electrochemical and optical sensing platforms, enzyme- and aptamer-based recognition, gas sensing materials and mechanisms, self-assembled monolayers and electrode modification, direct electron transfer systems, and sensor performance characterisation.
  • Electrochemistry: battery chemistry including lithium-ion and magnesium systems, insertion electrode materials, ionic liquids as electrolytes, electrochemical COâ‚‚ reduction, corrosion and surface finishing, impedance spectroscopy, and industrial electrochemical processes.
  • Photoelectrochemistry: photoanode and photocathode materials, photoelectrochemical water splitting and hydrogen generation, TiOâ‚‚ and hematite photocatalysis, dye-sensitised and photoelectrochemical solar cells, charge separation and transport, photocurrent transient analysis, and photocorrosion.
  • Synthetic organic chemistry: carbon–carbon bond formation, selective and direct fluorination, continuous-flow and microreactor synthesis, biocatalytic transformations including aldolase-mediated reactions, stereochemical control, and functional polymer synthesis.
  • Medicinal chemistry: drug design and structure–activity relationships, heterocyclic scaffolds, prodrug strategies, fluorine in drug design, natural product derivatives and semisynthesis, antimicrobial, antiviral, and anticancer agents, and mechanistic studies of biological activity.
  • Organometallic chemistry: metal–ligand bonding and Ď€-complexes, metal hydrides and proton transfer, homogeneous catalysis including polymerisation and alkane activation, bioorganometallic systems, porphyrinoids and macrocyclic complexes, and organometallic compatibility with redox enzymes.
  • Reaction kinetics and mechanisms: rate law determination, isothermal and non-isothermal kinetics, advanced oxidation processes, catalytic mechanisms, transformation product identification, and computational and molecular modelling of reaction pathways.
  • Sorption and separation processes: adsorption isotherms and kinetic modelling, activated carbon and biochar sorbents, intraparticle diffusion analysis, ion exchange and membrane separations, and thermodynamics of sorption.
  • Structural characterisation: crystal structure determination, X-ray absorption and XANES analysis, spectroscopic structure elucidation, elemental and compositional analysis, and characterisation of polyoxometalates and mixed metal oxides.
