    Special Issue Description

    Dear Collegues,

Since the beginning of the domestication of animals, animal biotechnology has been used in many forms. Numerous instruments from the fields of animal breeding, genetics, and nutrition have played and will continue to play, a significant part in the selection, propagation, and control of livestock traits that are both aesthetically pleasing and commercially significant. Future cattle farming will depend much more on current and forthcoming biotechnology innovations to generate our food. However, there is still room for development in both product composition and production effectiveness, particularly in terms of growth, disease resistance, and reproduction.

Stem cells, other cutting-edge biotechnologies, genetically modified (transgenic) livestock, and other livestock-derived foods will all play significant roles in the production of more and better-quality food. Without crossbreeding or hybridization, the manufacture of transgenics offers ways to quickly introduce "new" or changed genes and DNA sequences into cattle. Although it is a more exact method, the result is not fundamentally different from genetic selection or crossbreeding. The development of novel and enhanced cattle breeds can be accomplished in a variety of ways using transgenic technology. Enhancing prolificacy and reproductive performance, increasing feed consumption and growth rate, improving carcass and/or milk composition, modifying hair or fiber, and boosting disease resistance are all examples of practical transgenic applications in livestock production.

    Manuscript Submission information

Manuscripts should be submitted online by registering and logging in to this link. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed.
Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent on email address:[email protected] for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page.
