    Special Issue Description

    Dear Collegues,

Glass fiber technology advancement for industrial applications in reinforced composites is discussed. Thus, we cover a wide range of glass fiber technology, starting with the early technology of E-glass fibers, which is still the most common type of glass fiber used for reinforcing today and moving on to the most important advancements in glass fiber technology that are bringing about new commercial uses.
It is detailed how commercially available reinforcing fiber compositions developed from fibers manufactured by spinning ordinary soda-lime glasses into insulating fibers.
Then, the suite of strength, stiffness, and lightweight features that went along with the E-glass fiber compositions—which generally fall under the CaO-Al2O3-SiO2-B2O3 system and were designed for their superior electrical capabilities—sparked the creation of the GRP composites sector are studied.
The creation of high-performance fibers is illustrated by a study of changes in glass composition that affect particular properties including strength, modulus, dielectric constant, and acid corrosion resistance. Elements of surface chemistry, manufacturing process considerations, and product characteristics are discussed.

    Manuscript Submission information

Manuscripts should be submitted online by registering and logging in to this link. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed.
Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent on email address:[email protected] for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process. A guide for authors and other relevant information for submission of manuscripts is available on the Instructions for Authors page.
