Special Issue Description
Osteoporosis is a frequent localized or systemic skeletal condition that most commonly affects postmenopausal women. It is characterized by decreased bone synthesis and increased bone resorption, which lowers bone mineral density (BMD).
Age-related increases in the incidence of osteoporosis and even osteoporotic fracture increase social and familial stress. Despite the development of anti-osteoporosis medications, some adverse effects are still seen in the therapy group. To give a thorough knowledge of upcoming clinical treatment, osteogenic intracellular signaling pathways regulated by miRNAs are introduced in depth.
