Special Issue Description

Dear Collegues,

From anesthetics and antibiotics to magnetic resonance imaging scanners and radiotherapy, technological advancements in healthcare have resulted in dramatic changes. While technologies (new drugs and treatments, new devices, new social media support for healthcare, etc.) will drive innovation, human factors will remain one of the stable limitations of breakthroughs. No prediction can please everyone; instead, this special issue explores snippets of the future to see how we can think more clearly about how to get where we want to go.

Technology drives healthcare more than any other force, and it will continue to evolve in dramatic ways in the future. While we can speculate and debate the specifics of future healthcare trends, we must first understand the drivers so that we can align with them and actively work to ensure the best outcomes for society as a whole.

Manuscript Submission information

Manuscripts should be submitted online by registering and logging in to this link. Once you are registered, click here to go to the submission form. Manuscripts can be submitted until the deadline. All submissions that pass pre-check are peer-reviewed.
Accepted papers will be published continuously in the journal (as soon as accepted) and will be listed together on the special issue website. Research articles, review articles as well as short communications are invited. For planned papers, a title and short abstract (about 100 words) can be sent on email address:[email protected] for announcement on this website.
Submitted manuscripts should not have been published previously, nor be under consideration for publication elsewhere (except conference proceedings papers). All manuscripts are thoroughly refereed through a single-blind peer-review process.
