Special Issue Description

In every mature market economy, small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) play a crucial role in accomplishing macroeconomic goals. Their employment share also reveals the sector’s stability and quality. The largest sector in developed economies nowadays is SMEs. Their importance stems from their adaptability, lower capital intensity, prospects for innovation, and coverage of more diverse market areas. As they guarantee women’s full and effective participation in the economy and society, the vast majority of the world’s food producers and distributors play crucial roles in closing the gender gap. Despite making a considerable contribution to the SDGs, MSMEs have been the most severely impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic’s negative socioeconomic effects. MSMEs (micro, small, and medium-sized firms) have a far bigger potential influence than their size on reaching several of the sustainable development goals. This review sought to look at the body of literature on MSMEs’ contributions to Ethiopia’s issues and sustainable development. The industry has a significant impact on the economic and regional growth of India. There are many factors at play in India at the moment. One of the reasons is that India’s SME sector plays a historic role in the country’s GDP, domestic output, and export share. The size of employment makes the function obvious; the SME sector is the largest employer. There are many clusters in India because SME businesses are seeking innovative ways to collaborate to have a larger impact on the local economy.
