Citywide Heritage Conservation Practices
Abstract Submission Deadline : November 30, 2023
Manuscript Submission Deadline : December 25, 2023
Special Issue Description
An ambitious, multi-year undertaking that will revamp the day-to-day operations of City Planning is a city-wide heritage assessment. This paper suggests a phased survey program that, if adequately funded, can efficiently and effectively locate historical resources throughout the City while offering up-to-date research and initial data for planning studies on heritage conservation districts and other local areas. A greater understanding of the location and worth of heritage resources for City Planning, communities, and property owners will be one of the survey’s key outcomes. Through their participation in the survey’s understanding of local heritage, stakeholders, communities, and volunteers can be involved, which in turn strengthens communities. Through the digital interchange of information, survey data can be collected, made available, and used by the public and private sectors for a range of objectives, such as guiding public policy and decision-making and fostering a conservation culture.
