Abstract

Aggregate is one of the major ingredients of the concrete and the maximum part of strength of the concrete is governed by the aggregate. And thus, partial or total replacement of it can change the physical as well as the chemical properties of the concrete. Nowadays researchers are quite interested in obtaining the more durable and more resisting concrete to the diverse climatic conditions. In this research, aggregate is proportionately replaced with the manganese ore aggregate namely 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% for M30 grade of concrete. The concrete having the density greater than 2800kg/m3 is term as the High-Density Concrete. The physical and mechanical properties like the Impact Test, Specific Gravity, Water Absorption, Density, Compressive strength, Flexural Strength, Split Tensile strength tests were done for the both7 and 28 days. When aggregates were fully replaced in the concrete mix with the manganese ore aggregate a density of 2911kg/m3 was obtained from this experiment study. And similarly based on the experimental tests carried on the conventional concrete, the high-density concrete has more Compressive strength, Flexural strength and split tensile strength values.
